I plan to post a new video soon about using the HDR with a plasma ball.

CRYsler

Automotive giant Chrysler announced today that is will lay off one thousand salary workers due to poor sales. In other news GM said that sales are down 5% from last year. They are doing poorly and may face bankruptcy. Sales of large vehicles are hit hard, even Ford is having trouble selling the signature Ford F150 Truck.

Fun Facts about WALL-E

His cockroach side kick is called "spot". Eve's full name is Probe One Eve - Extrateresrial Vegetation Evaluator. The Global CEO of Buy-n-Large (Hellmart on roids) was Shelby Forthright. The last captain of the axiom who returned to earth was known as Captain Brian McCrea.

The janitor robot that saved both eve and WALL-E was known as M-O (microwave obilterator) or simply "Moe". He screamed when he was cleaning WALL-E of dirt and then WALL-E put his foot on Moe's head. M-O or moe's favorite saying is "Foreign Contaminant ." His job is to clean the ship of all dirt.

The cruise ship couple that are splashing at the pool are Mary and John. They save the cruise ship children from falling objects.

If you stay to the very end you see WALL-E teach people about fire and eve digs a well so they can have water.

Effect of sci-fi on tech

Does science fiction help or hurt real science? Future people may wonder why we never built space ships that could go to other stars. The high cost of space travel may be part of the problem.

I feel sci-fi inspires us to dream of a better tomorrow and help build it.

What are the 2800's really like?

From using the HDR for astral time travel I have seen the future. By the 2600's humans are living in a large underground city, whereas the surface is a green park. In contrast to the movie WALL-E where the surface is littered with waste and people live in floating cruise ships in outer space. This love story of a garbage collecting robot (WALL-E) and a probe droid (eve) AKA the floating egg thing, makes little sense. The overweight infantile humans of WALL-E with their floating levitating recliner hover chairs eating food by drinking from a cup do not exist the days to come.

Ugly futuristic minivan

Most future cars are pretty, but here is an ugly future bus minivan/microcar, whatever, vehicle. It looks like it was born on the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Who says the future has to be beautiful?

Foreclosures soar

Home foreclosures are increaing to about double of last year. Real estate prices are falling and banks are failing. The current recession keeps getting worse. neither McCain or Obama are trying to solve the problem.

The happy future of flying cars and robot servants seems like a dream.

Future Androids

The movie WALL-E made me think about the science of robotics and future androids. Perhaps in the days to come we will see more science breakthroughs in this area. It is not just neural networks and artificial intelligence, but also the ability to walk on two legs like the Honda robot asimo.

Right now Sega has a robot girlfriend called ema short for Eternal Maiden Actualization that sells for $175, and how much longer do we have to wait for a full size model, like in the anime Chobits?

ema the robotic girlfriend

EMA short for Eternal Maiden Actualization is a 15 inch cutie robot that sings and dances. She also gives kisses. This reminds me of the anime "Chobits" where a human man falls in love with a girl robot.

GM explores microcars

In an effort to profitability GM has moth balled SUV truck plants and looked to the microcar Chevy Beat as a new car it might sell in the US. Of all cars sold, only the Smart car is smaller. The beat is tiny, but gets 40mpg. It is even more compact than the aveo.
