Well, Ratan Tata of Tata Motors figured this out. He did not add any luxury to this bare bones car that is the cheapest car in the world. The tiny Tata Nano get 50mpg and seats five. It is a true dream to drive. Unlike most big cars it is quick and responsive. The small lightweight Tata Nano gets people to their destinations.

Actually the automotive giants of the US like GM & Ford could learn from Tata Motors. Perhasp we will soon see a small affordable car in the US soon.
