Future of mobility

Honda says future of mobility is segway style unicycle that is easy to carry. Well, we wonder how easy. Still remember all those predictions about the segway. It never did take off like people did say.

Back when it first came out a few hardy souls braved the ridicule and started using one. I talked to an elderly man. He bought two segways, one for him and one for his wife so they could move. Well, police told this senior citizen that this scooter was illegal on sidewalk and also on road so he could not use one. OK so sorry seniors. He sold them both on ebay for less money.

Folks, we wish there were flying cars and men on mars. However, reality is often less glam that a science fiction saga. John Titor told us the segway scooter would not become max pop. Lets face facts, on the street they are not common. Future of personal mobility is not a segway.

Future of Religion

In the future I saw no religion or racism. Well, like now. There are few people, but they live in a harmonious way. Hatred is seen as a poison.

OK, it is not that religion is 100% gone. What little I saw was like a mix of christianity and gaiaism. Basically, gaiaism is the love of the mother earth as a living, sentient superorganism.

Robots in Future

Astronaut
They always say that in the future there will be robots. Well, there are robots now, but it is not as in your face. Think of an ATM machine instead of a bank teller. Also, witness how now at the gasoline station you can pay using a credit card and never be near a person.

CarlosX Robot Repairman says that in the future, many jobs such as bar waitress are perform by androids that look like people. Artificial intelligence and neural networks become far more powerful in the futuristic tomorrow. These artificial persons as the machines prefer to be called are woven into the very fabric of future society.

100 billion bailout of DEAD-troit

If we have known that the automobile manufacturer bailout would cost 100 billion dollars then I would have told you. There are many saying we need more energy efficient vehicles. Well, that is true. Thing is we are running out of fossil fuels. Future vehicles will be much smaller, have less power, and fewer features.

Robot Toys?

Future Robot toys are one way in which our globe will be expose to new tech. The world of high technology will use robots to do a lot of menial tasks in the days to come. In the world of tomorrow people are going to be too busy to attend to low value tasks that consume time.

Time travellers from the future would be amaze at how few robots we have. I mean we got the ROOMBA vacuum cleaner and some industrial models, but most of our robots are toys for children to play with.

Astral question

Was asked this question.
"Hey, you know of any fun spots to see in astral or got astral maps?"

OK, so I do astral time travel quite a lot, but never created any maps of the future, but this would be a lot of fun to make maps of what is to come. As for fun places to see, hmmmm. It seems like there are a lot of flying cars in 2250's so that is one fun place. BTW, avoid astral hell as the place is smokey and reeks of sulfur.

microbots?

They used to be the province of science fiction, but now tiny microbots are real. These microscopic robots will allow a surgeon to see the inside of a blood vessel. Microbots will prove a challenge for future robot repairmen.

Be frugal in the future

The mortgage meltdown is an epic event of monumental dimensions. The price of homes fell like a house of cards; not to worry our government is printing orangeback monopoly money as fast as it can.

You have heard "waste no, want not" and no doubt now with our economic crisis many believe is a good time to try to be more careful with supplies. This is no doubt part of our frugal future. What we save today we may use and more to the point - need tomorrow. Also, as our planet runs out of resources we must conserve what we have and use in a wise way.

Future Androids

The movie WALL-E made me think about the science of robotics and future androids. Perhaps in the days to come we will see more science breakthroughs in this area. It is not just neural networks and artificial intelligence, but also the ability to walk on two legs like the Honda robot asimo.

Right now Sega has a robot girlfriend called ema short for Eternal Maiden Actualization that sells for $175, and how much longer do we have to wait for a full size model, like in the anime Chobits?

Future Robot Toys

The robots in the future are like slaves, not toys. Instead of robutlers you have maids that cook and clean, as well as do other functions. They are able to walk and talk like a human and even look like a regular person, except that they are very beautiful.

In the anime chobits you have robots called persocoms would do chores around the house. One robot called Chii a chobots series falls in love with her master. This is close to what happens in the future.

Future Robot Toys are used by people in the job of maids. The robot stores have them on sale. Mostly they do work inside the house, but can also be used as bar help or hostess.

Stores sell the robots as companions. The customers are creepy old men and the robots cute young blondes. These men are too old and poor to get girlfriends. Many are fat, bald, and ugly. The sight of the pretty girl next to that mummy is like beauty and the beast.

Price of gasoline in the future

Future Price of gas is a major concern. In Januanry it was $1.87/gallon, and just today I paid $2.79/gallon. That is a jump of nearly a dollar in two months.

The price of gasoline is going up, but oil is still under $60/barrel. Expect oil to zoom over $80 soon. The price at the pump for a gallon of gasoline will keep going up, I predict soon over $3/gal gas. And we are just getting started next year the price might go even higher. This will cause all prices to increase.

Inflation will take off and people willhave to pay a lot more for gasoline in the future.
